Experience Details
If you’re interested in exploring and learning more about the nightlife and local cuisine in Japan, all whilst meeting other like-minded people, join us on this local tour! This tour gives you the chance to truly immerse yourself in Osaka’s food culture and hang with both locals and tourists. Osaka is known as the food capital in the Kansai region, and what better way to enjoy tasty local food than having a home party?
The tour begins in the streets of Dotonbori, which, despite attracting thousands of tourists daily, still has plenty of hidden gems to offer. We will not only explore the secret spots that the locals patronize, but will also get a chance to purchase food that we will actually be devouring later on, together.
Upon meeting, we begin our get-together with a short sake tasting treat. At a local cafe bar, you will get the chance to sample different types of sake on a sake tasting platter. With so many different types of sake to choose from, the bartender will be more than happy to help you find your favorite cup of sake!
After our short visit to the sake cafe bar, we will begin our tour of the streets, and watch the Dotonbori district come to life at night. We will visit a beautiful temple, and enjoy a picturesque view of the night scenery along the river. As we stroll along, we will also be stopping along the way to visit local markets and shops and purchase food for our party! You will be introduced to several Japanese well-loved foods such as takoyaki (octopus balls), sushi, nikuman (meat bun), oden (Japanese vegetable stew), etc.
Once we’ve purchased enough food, we will adjourn to Hostel Enisia Namba’s lounge and the party will begin in full swing! As you sample the foods we bought, don’t forget to interact with our friendly local hosts, let your hair loose and experience how the locals unwind and party!

Experience Location
For drinking, dining, and shopping in the heart of Osaka, Dotonbori (or Dotombori) is one of Osaka’s most popular destinations. “Dotonbori” refers to both the canal area and Dotonbori Street which run parallel to each other. With intense neon lights (you can't miss the famous 20-meter tall Glico Man sign), the Dotonbori area is a feast for the eyes as well as the mouth. Street food stalls turning takoyaki balls and flipping okonomiyaki slabs compete against all-you-can-eat restaurants and late night snacks at small izakayas.
