Experience Details

A trip to Osaka would not be complete without trying Osaka-style okonomiyaki. Literally translating to “grilled as you like it,” this savory pancake is made of a batter that includes a variety of mix-ins like cabbage, meat or seafood; and topped with sauce, mayo, and katsuobushi fish flakes. Learn how to make this iconic Osaka dish with an experienced Japanese cooking instructor during this cooking class in Osaka.

Besides okonomiyaki, you’ll learn how to make miso soup, a staple of Japanese cuisine, using Yoko’s homemade miso, along with two side dishes and a Japanese omelet. Then, finish off with a sweet dessert.

Come along to Yoko-sensei’s kitchen in Osaka! With 5+ years of culinary instruction under her belt, Yoko has welcomed over a thousand guests to her classes, both in Japan and abroad in London and Dublin. A multilingual nationally licensed tour guide, she speaks Japanese, English, and Mandarin, having lived in China for a year and a half. She’s looking forward to showing you the ropes of Japanese cuisine in her Osaka kitchen!
