Experience Details

Japan is known for its kawaii foods, but this class elevates the concept to a whole different level with adorable sushi rolls shaped after puppies, cats, and loving little bears that are almost too cute to eat. Learning to make these sushi rolls is a memorable experience for the entire family and a great way to experience Japanese cooking in a fun, relaxed environment. With easy-to-make recipes and fresh ingredients, Kaori, your host, will guide you every step of the way to sushi mastery, and also teach you how to make rolled omelet, a staple of Japanese cuisine that goes well with sushi. After cooking, you'll enjoy your fresh meal together. If you’d like to make this experience pescatarian or halal-friendly, please inquire upon booking (please note that ingredients are not halal-certified, but the host can avoid using pork and alcohol in the recipes and take measures to prevent cross-contamination.) Experience flow: -Meet your host at the cooking school -Your host will introduce the recipes and explain the procedure -Watch your hosts demonstration and get cooking -Enjoy your delicious creations for lunch with water, tea, and miso soup If anyone knows about cute Japanese cooking, it’s Kaori. A certified cooking instructor with extensive experience, she has taught children and adults how to create meals inspired by their favorite characters (a culinary art form known as character bento), even working on related projects for magazines and TV. She uses her experience and knowledge to craft fun, creative lessons for everyone to enjoy cooking meals that are both healthy and irresistibly cute. This cooking class is conveniently located only a few minutes walk from Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, a vast realm in the heart of Tokyo that offers beautiful sights year-round. After the lesson, feel free to walk off your meal in the garden’s many picturesque paths.
