Experience Details
Much like Japanese foods are popular worldwide, their sample replicas have recently risen to fame, too. Japanese fake foods, also known as food samples or food models, can be found at the entrance of many restaurants so guests can see what they can expect to be served. But far from just being a mere 1-to-1 imitation, these intricate models are an art form in their own right — one you can learn to master during your time in Japan! In this unique workshop in Yokohama, you’ll learn how to make your own food replicas with Yukiko, a sample food artist, and take home your favorite Japanese (fake) foods!
Unlike most fake food-making workshops, in this experience, you can mold your fake food samples with your own hands if you opt to make sushi rolls or a toast-shaped clock, so each food replica will be truly personal. Guests with less time to spare can select the seafood rice bowl option, which takes half the time since making it requires assembling pieces instead of molding. No matter your choice, you'll have lots of fun in this unique workshop, and you can keep your artistic creations as a cute souvenir!
