After all your hard work, enjoy your comforting meal with five different kinds of sake from Kyushu. You’ll feel like you’re in a lMaking new friends or feeling home in a new city can be challenging, but this home dining experience proves it doesn’t have to be. Meet Yuki, a friendly local fluent in English who loves traveling and is eager to share some insights into Japanese culture and make new friends. She is the host of this home party where you’ll try authentic Japanese sake paired with common izakaya dishes, which you’ll learn to make yourself!
After meeting Yuki at a nearby spot, you’ll head to her home, where you’ll learn the recipes for the day. Your menu will include four “otsumami”, or appetizers that pair well with Japanese sake. You’ll then spend around 1.5 hours preparing this assortment of dishes, which may include izakaya staples like yakitori, potato salad, or dishes with spicy cod roe, an ingredient you simply can’t miss while in Fukuoka.
