An easy day trip outside of Tokyo, Gotemba is a historic town located at the base of Mt. Fuji. Although it’s famous for its impressive outlets, there’s a lot more to discover in Gotemba besides shopping. Spend the day discovering the hidden gems of one of the friendliest cities in Japan. The tour includes a lunch of the local Shizuoka-style soba noodles, a visit to a zen temple, and trying many local foods. During the experience, our expert guide will tell you all about the history and stories of Gotemba. You’ll get a good feel for the town as we walk to and from each location, and enjoy a variety of experiences. During the visit to the zen temple, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in a personal zen experience. The peaceful surroundings and unique experience will leave you feeling refreshed and inspired. We’ll also take a trip to an indigo dying studio, and make a craft with the help of a multigenerational master craftsman. You’ll sample a variety of food and drinks, and get a chance to chat with locals at the various locations. And of course, no trip to this area is complete without sampling some of Shizuoka's famous green tea! Enjoy a day of walking and unforgettable experiences in Gotemba!
