The chef at this Michelin star sushi restaurant in Amakusa, Kumamoto Prefecture has over 50 years of experience to draw upon in creating his top class omakase menus. His shop is located right by the waters from which the majority of his delicious fresh fish is caught.
Guests can enjoy the full experience with the omakase set menu, or pick and choose their favorite dishes a la carte. The sushi rice is lightly vinegared, with pickled plum salt adding an interesting flavor to some of the dishes.
A striking glossy red wall fixture is the backdrop to the kitchen, emblazoned with a kanji which references the chef’s dedication to great service. This ethos is evident in every second you spend at Yakko Sushi — one of the best Michelin-starred sushi restaurants in Kyushu.
