Restaurant Details
Yakiniku Bar Tamura is the kind of place that doesn’t need an introduction among local carnivorous fans. It’s managed directly by the highly reputed, long-standing Tamura Butcher Shop in Bihoro Town, whose next exciting venue is located on the third floor of the Akarenga Terrace, overlooking the antique, red-bricked facade of Sapporo’s Former Hokkaido Government Office Building The restaurant is directly connected via the underground walkway, Chi-Ka-Ho, which connects the Subway Sapporo Station and Odori Station
Dining here is a master class in meat, and everything it can and should be. Beffitingly, wagyu beef from Bihoro, Hokkaido, is its most prized possession. Rare cuts and premium portions are served as fillets, sirloins and skirt steaks. Chefs are involved in the entire meat consumption process; from procurement to production, to distribution and consumption, and to cooking and nutrition.
Prominent, but never overtaking, the menu is Sapporo’s Genghis Khan — a dish of lamb yakiniku and other grilled greens. During winter, the lineup expands to sukiyaki. Liquid specialties from Hokkaido further line the menu, such as the classic Sapporo draft beer or the Sapporo Premium Black Beer.
This version of the restaurant looks more modern and relaxed. Breathtaking views of the northern capital, faux brick finishes and tasteful industrial lamp fixtures make the setting appropriate for all occasions: a power lunch with clients, a family night out or a casual catch-up among friends.
