Warayakiya Shinjuku
Get a taste of Kochi Prefecture at an izakaya which uses a historic straw grilling technique to lock in the umami flavor of their dishes.
Restaurant Details
This izakaya specializes in the dishes of Tosa in Kochi Prefecture, collecting the best of the sea, mountains, and rivers of the area. It’s a classic izakaya space with a lively atmosphere in the evenings.
They specialize in a very traditional style of Japanese cooking: straw grilling. This kind of grill creates huge, leaping flames which cook dishes at very high temperatures for a short time. The bonito prepared in this fashion is something of a signature dish.
Alongside that, they also offer a wide range of fish, meat, noodles and more. Sake from the region is also served, alongside a full menu of beers and other drinks.
