If you go a little further down the Kiyamachi Street in Kyoto, you will see a quaint old-fashioned house marked by a big lantern. This restaurant is called Tousuiro. It faces the Kamo-gawa River, and in the summer outdoor seating is available so diners can enjoy the cool breezes and the atmosphere of Kyoto.
Tousuiro is a tofu specialty restaurant where you can enjoy Kyoto tofu kaiseki dishes. One of the popular dishes is “oboro tofu,” made from 100% domestic soybeans. The texture is so smooth that the tofu will melt on your tongue. In addition, they serve raw yuba, namafu dengaku, yuba zosui, and so on. The course meal is affordable and all courses include oboro tofu. The food, the seasoning, the food plating, and the plates themselves are tasteful and impressive.
