Tonakatsu Yamaichi
Small in space, but big in portion sizes: a good trade off for a tonkatsu restaurant.
Restaurant Details
The tonkatsu art is not as easy as it looks. Tonkatsu Yamaichi has mastered the craft on extreme levels. The size of the interior of this shop does not reflect the sizes of the portions served there. In fact, it's the exact opposite!
Close to Akihabara, Tonkatsu Yamaichi is also extremely affordable for its quality. Every piece of meat is fried by the owner-chef himself, so rest assured each tonkatsu is prepared to perfection. The most popular item on the menu is the special fried pork loin cutlet, and appetizers like the varied croquette range go perfectly with this main dish.
Tonkatsu Yamaichi may get crowded during peak dining hours and on the weekends, so be prepared for up to half an hour wait — but it's definitely worth it.
