Restaurant Details
Located in ROKU KYOTO, LXR Hotels & Resort, TENJIN is a French restaurant that offers three distinct dining areas. There’s a bar with light meals and beverages, an all-day dining room that’s open from breakfast to dinner, and the chef’s table which offers an intimate evening dining experience where the chef prepares each dish right in front of the guests. Every zone features a bamboo theme; the light golden tones of the wood create a soothing and minimalist atmosphere.
TENJIN Chef’s Table is led by executive chef Akira Taniguchi, who turns the open kitchen into his stage, delighting guests with his culinary artistry. Seasonality is at the forefront of TENJIN’s style, which draws from French cooking techniques. Some courses even utilize herbs and Kyo-yasai (Kyoto Prefecture’s heirloom vegetables) that are picked straight from the garden on hotel premises.
Just 13 counter seats are available per service at TENJIN Chef's Table, so recommendations are basically mandatory.
Centered around the concept of “innovative dining experience that can only be tasted here,” the chefs of TENJIN entertain guests with an artistic culinary presentation. The dishes are inspired by the Rinpa style of art and are paired with a drink to match. Come savor a 10-course meal featuring original creative dishes prepared using French culinary techniques. Six types of drinks are available including champagne, wine, cocktails, and Kyoto mineral water.
