Tajimaya Don Quijote Kawaramachi
What’s better than wagyu? Unlimited wagyu. Enjoy all-you-can-eat wagyu, served shabu-shabu or sukiyaki-style, at Tajimaya’s branch just moments from Kyoto-Kawaramachi Station.
Restaurant Details
Among the breed of hands-on yakiniku restaurants appearing in Kyoto, Tajimaya, a renowned Japanese shabu shabu chain, is building its next outpost in the city with a proposal to make it an all-you-can-eat experience. The restaurant is located close to Kyoto-kawaramachi Station, on the seventh floor of a Don Quijote. The famous discount store chain might not be the first place one would think of for eating wagyu, but it's an unassuming setting for the wealth of flavor waiting within.
While tabehodai (all-you-can-eat) dining is a familiar concept in Japan, Tajimaya sets itself apart with unlimited servings of premium kuroge wagyu, also known as Japanese Black, one of the most sought-after wagyu breeds. Guests can choose between two styles: shabu-shabu, which features a light broth for cooking meat and vegetables and then dipping them in a savory sauce, or sukiyaki, which uses a rich soy sauce-based warishita sweet brot.
The highlight of the menu is the endless servings of tender shoulder loin and a special introduction to Kobe beef, one of Japan’s most prized wagyu varieties. Excellence is the standard — the restaurant exclusively serves A4-grade or higher wagyu to its diners. The plan also includes unlimited vegetables, noodles, rice and bottomless Haagen-Dazs ice cream to close out the meal.
A large and welcoming space, Tajimaya is the ideal setting for larger party bookings. The restaurant has all-you-can-drink options for the ultimate birthday, holiday or corporate event.
