Sushi Takao
Nothing beats a vast array of quality nigiri prepared and served the Edomae way.
Restaurant Details
The extremely skilled sushi chef at Sushi Takao is nothing short of extraordinary. Tomoyuki Takao started his own restaurant on one of the quiet streets of Tenjin in Fukuoka. Despite it being off the beaten track, the restaurant is getting a constant flow of customers, new and old. That’s definitely expected of a reputable sushi master who has trained in Ginza for several years.
Chef Takao strives to serve the best quality of Edomae style sushi ever and he’s chosen to present that in the form of an omakase course consisting of nigiri sushi and other appetizer dishes to complement them. There’s also an emphasis on seasonal ingredients that highlights a different and unique flavor each time. Look out for premium sushi dishes like shrimp innards that are topped with prawns as well as fish floss with “kasugodai,” a type of snapper fish only available in summer. Takao prioritizes simplicity in all aspects — from decor to the sushi itself.
