For sushi lovers, this restaurant is a must when you’re in Tokyo. With one Michelin star, the superior quality of the food is unquestionable. Expect fresh, high-quality food, such as tiger prawns, tuna, and abalone from Michio Kojima, who is the chef here. He sources his fish and other seafood from the Toyosu fish market, visiting the market himself to select what he needs.
The restaurant is small and can sit only up to 22 people – 14 at the counter and eight in the private dining rooms. If you want to be guaranteed a seat here, reservations should be made. As with most traditional sushi places, the meal tends to be a quiet one, with the chef rarely speaking as he puts together each dish.
Aside from sushi, the restaurant also serves excellent sake, shochu, and a variety of wines. There is also champagne for those who aren’t fans of sake and local alcohol.
