Restaurant Details
STEREO is on its A-game tonight. Directly connected to Shibuya Station, the effortlessly cool spot composes a string of creative drinks and European cuisine paired with unobstructed views of Shibuya Crossing. A large mirror stretches across the bar's back wall to reflect the Tokyo stretching far into the horizon and STEREO’s sleek, swish interior.
STEREO’s greatest claim to fame is in its inventive cocktails and mocktails that highlight Japanese whiskey and domestically produced non-alcoholic drinks. Pull up a chair at the bar to see sharply dressed bartenders put their shaking experience to the test. Signatures include the cherry blossom martini, inspired by the springtime beauty of sakura. Meanwhile, the Jasmine and Apple mocktail offers a refreshing medley of fruity flavors.
The food, written by Michelin-trained head chef Nakanishi Ryu, rides in harmony with the drinks from the bar. Ryu had trained at Michelin-star restaurants in Lyon, France and Ginza and worked at several restaurants in Japan before helming STEREO's kitchen in 2024. He chose to still incorporate fresh, domestically produced vegetables and meat, adding a local flair to the otherwise very European lineup.
Music is an important part of stirring the great vibe at STEREO. Dining is enveloped with a mesmerizing soundscape played through the restaurant's original sound system. A vast library of records is spun throughout the day, with live DJ events held on the weekends.
STEREO is located on the 38th floor of Shibuya Tower, making it a convenient spot to grab lunch or soak in the nighttime views on a date.
