Ryoriya Shogetsuan
A refined Michelin-starred kaiseki restaurant with some English support, a refined atmosphere, and beautiful seasonal dishes.
Restaurant Details
The incredible success of this 2 Michelin-starred restaurant in Hiroshima is down to the combined efforts of the husband and wife team who run it. Together they serve up a fine dining kaiseki meal which draws from the styles of its refined Kyoto roots with a serene atmosphere and delicious seasonal ingredients.
Thankfully for foreign diners, the wife can speak English, so feel free to ask about the dishes to gain a deeper insight into the cuisine. This will include dishes like Miyazaki beef, boiled snow crab, or fried oysters. However, the exact dishes change throughout the year to match the seasons.
Delicious desserts such as homemade ice cream and mousse cap off one of the best traditional meals in Hiroshima. Words can only do so much to describe this style of fine dining — the best thing to do is grab a spot at their 8-seat counter to experience it all for yourself.
