Pontocho Fujita
Enjoy course menus brimming with traditional Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine and delicious seasonal ingredients.
Restaurant Details
The chef at Pontocho Fujita has plenty of experience catering to the needs of overseas visitors, offering a menu that presents Kyoto’s cuisine in its best form. Upscale, small plates are served tasting course style at lunch and dinner. Sample menus are heavy with seafood, fresh produce, and herbs that are rarely found outside of Japan. Guests can also enjoy dishes such as wagyu steak, and sip local sake or shochu.
Pontocho offers three distinct dining floors. The first includes Western tables and chairs, the second intimate counter seating where guests can watch the chefs at work, and Japanese-style seating on the third floor.
Their course menu can accommodate up to 24 guests, making this a perfect location for tours or group trips to enjoy a luxurious Japanese course meal. A limited takeout menu is also available during day-time hours, and they proudly offer their tea-leaf encrusted roast beef — the house specialty — as souvenirs.
