Restaurant Details

While central Kyoto offers no end of kaiseki dining gems, the wider city boasts just as rich a selection. Noguchi is situated a little bit out of the way from the main tourist spots, but the short trip here is rewarded with a set-course feast that earned it two Michelin stars in 2021.

Sit at their long counter to watch the chef whip up course after course of local delicacies, with an opening in the wall behind the kitchen revealing the quiet gardens of the building. This window to the outside serves as the perfect backdrop for the dishes which are served here — their menu closely based on the turn of the seasons.

This is traditional Kyoto in its purest form. Classic dishes are served, with little meddling of their original recipes. Some unexpected ingredients are added to give these historic flavors a personal twist, but the essence of history remains present in every bite.
