Sushi Nakano
Fine sushi dining which is extremely foreigner-friendly, within walking distance from Shibuya Station.
Restaurant Details
Venturing out into the sushi heartlands of Ginza can yield mixed results for those who don’t speak any Japanese. Communication is key in traditional Japanese dining, with an emphasis placed on the rapport between chef and customer. If you pick a place with no English support, you’re likely to miss out on some important dimensions to the experience.
Luckily, Nakano offers a lifeline. Located near to the tourist hotspot of Shibuya, their English speaking staff are on hand to guide you through the luxury dining experience.
Their ever-evolving menu changes sometimes as much as thrice a month, but always features classic Edomae nigiri courses broken up by small snack dishes throughout. Regular fixtures include shrimp in a soup made from its head, and the quintessential fatty tuna which every sushi lover craves.
The two-hour omakase set menu might appear expensive at first, but sake and wine pairings are actually included in the price, so it’s deceptively cost-effective.
