All the dishes that you can enjoy at the vegan restaurant Matatabi Kitchen are free from any animal products. They serve food that's made with great care for both our planet and our bodies; with seasonings, oils, water, vegetables, and rice all carefully-selected and primarily locally-sourced.
The signature dish at Matatabi Kitchen is today’s lunch plate with fermented brown rice (1,200 yen). They also have a soy meat “chicken” nanban rice bowl (1,000 yen).
You won’t want to miss their other speciality, the fermented brown rice burger. You can enjoy the mochi-mochi texture of brown rice and choose a main from four options: Koya-dofu miso katsu, soy meat shogayaki, soy meat “chicken” nanban, and homemade croquettes.
For side dishes, they have soy meat karaage (plain for 450 yen and spicy for 500 yen), and omusubi (rice ball, 250 yen) flavored with Japanese plums, shiitake-kombu, and more. Kids menus are also available.
