Kappo Watanabe in Niigata offers sake and Japanese cuisine, using local ingredients that reflect the four seasons.

Restaurant Details

In 1933, the restaurant opened as "Urokoya," specializing in dishes related to river fish. Later, as the times changed, the restaurant took on its current form, Kappo Watanabe.

Kappo Watanabe’s concept is a Japanese cuisine that

1. Reflects the nature of Niigata

2. Creates an extraordinary experience that cannot be experienced at home

3. Conveys the harmony of ingredients

The meals are carefully prepared to deliver the rich seasonal ingredients of Japan. In addition to dishes using local Niigata ingredients, Kappo Watanabe provides a wide selection of drinks such as Japanese sake and wine. Their variety of local Niigata sake, in particular, is recommended.

Located near the Maki Station on the JR Echigo Line, Kappo Watanabe is only a 3-minutes walk away. Don't forget to make a reservation and visit the restaurant when you are in Niigata!
