Kamoshiya Kusumoto
Enjoy a showboating, globetrotting set-course meal at Osaka’s most inventive kappo restaurant.
Restaurant Details
While most restaurants stick to one or two types of cuisine, some go all-out and juggle a whole range of dishes spanning the continents. This can end in disaster unless handled expertly. Thankfully, the chef at Kamoshiya Kusumoto has the skills to pull it off.
This Osaka establishment serves up fusion cuisine in the classic kappo dining style of Japan, with a series of dishes served over several hours. French and Indian dishes feature in the set course, alongside Japanese, Chinese, Italian, and Korean.
Though it might seem like too many balls to juggle, they do an amazing job of weaving through all of the disparate cuisines to unify the meal into one cohesive experience. Dishes from each country are matched with each other in a logical progression.
The setting is an extremely clean-cut, stylish space with dark grey walls and a classy, cool atmosphere. Private rooms are also available for business or romantic occasions.
Kamoshiya is the word for brewery in Japanese, so you can be sure that there are some great drinks on offer here. In fact, a staggering 2000 wine bottles and 200 sake bottles are available!
