Kaiseki Miya
Award-winning seafood-centric kaiseki, delivered in a warm, friendly atmosphere. This long-running local favorite is one of Saitama’s best examples of traditional Nihonryori (Japanese cuisine).
Restaurant Details
To the northwest of Tokyo lies this hidden gem of a kaiseki restaurant: a long-time favorite among local connoisseurs, which exemplifies the spirit of traditional Japanese dining (but with the warmth and hospitality of a country home).
The owners achieve this balance by only accepting three groups of diners per day, making for a highly personal experience. It’s an approach which saw them named among Tabelog’s 100 Best Japanese Cuisine Restaurants 2023.
Their varied course menus are curated according to the season, using a mix of locally-sourced ingredients and premium delicacies from around Japan. The focus is typically on their fish specialty dishes: in winter, fresh fugu comes to the fore; in summer, sweetfish, abalone, and sea urchin take center stage.
For 21 years, Kaiseki Miya has enjoyed a respected status among locals as one of the culinary jewels of Saitama. With private rooms and children’s meals available, it’s the perfect place to celebrate an important occasion with loved ones.
