Supremely marbled Kobe beef grilled up teppanyaki-style, in a private space just a minute’s walk from Ikebukuro’s busy East Exit.
Restaurant Details
As a subculture hub rivaling even Akihabara, the typical image of Ikebukuro eateries is just somewhere between places to get flashy social media-friendly foods, or super-quick bites to allow for visitors to get back to the meat of the day as soon as possible.
But at Kobe Beef Koshitsu Steak Kissho, the meat of the day is, well, the meat of the day — and that meat happens to be some of Japan’s finest beef: the legendary Kobe. Most people who come across it are surprised to find out it even exists; Ikebukuro isn’t a place that people would expect to find high-class teppanyaki. And yet Kissho makes good on this promise, delivering teppan-grilled wagyu — Kobe beef, no less — with a French twist, thanks to its French-born owner’s influence.
Seasonings, condiments and sauces are all made in-house to add a touch of rustic flavor. Guests can also look forward to enjoying wagyu sushi, courtesy of a dedicated sushi chef who works alongside the grill master, who will prepare guests’ orders right down to the most minute degree of grilling and seasoning. Spend the evening luxuriating in good conversation, a relaxing environment, and some truly fantastic grilling ingredients
While Kissho may be a fantastic place to celebrate special events, the simple fact of the matter is that an evening at Kissho is an event worth celebrating in itself.
