GUNRINDOU
A favorite of locals with a sweet tooth, this Tokyo sweet shop needs no introduction.
Restaurant Details
Named among the top three of Tokyo's best confectionery shop to sell daifuku — a mochi sweet with salted beans kneaded into it and stuffed with anko — Gunrindou is a longstanding (since the Taisho period in the 1900s), well-established wagashi store.
Even as early as ten in the morning, there's already a massive crowd eagerly waiting for the store's opening. Some come out of the store with more than twenty of these famous daifuku! Gunrindou closes shop when the stock of daifuku is finished for the day to prepare for the next day's batch — freshly made, with delicious original flavors.
