Akasaka Misuji
As the sister restaurant to the famous Yoroniku, Akasaka Misuji’s menu focuses on the premium top blade and a la carte meat dishes.
Restaurant Details
Lodged near Akasaka Station, Akasaka Misuji is the second outpost of the famed Yoroniku in Minami Aoyama.
The restaurant positions itself as a casual yet elegant yakiniku destination, boasting a selection of meats sourced through the owner’s extensive network. While it shares much of the same DNA as its flagship counterpart, it is forging a unique identity of its own. As its name suggests, Akasaka Misuji specializes in premium top blade cuts, sliced to the ideal thickness and served raw, allowing guests to grill them to their personal preference.
The menu is dominantly a la carte as well, featuring thick slices of beef tongue, delicate thin tripe and melt-in-your-mouth Chateaubriand, each prepared to enhance the texture and fat content of the meat.
But Akasaka Misuji wouldn’t be Yoroniku’s sister restaurant without sharing a few similarities. Owner and chef Tomoaki Handa, who honed his skills at Yakiniku Jumbo Shinozaki, has brought his signature dish from Yoroniku to this new venue: the "Silk Loin," a lightly seared beef slice wrapped around a bite-sized portion of rice. Another specialty is the hand-stretched Awa somen noodles — thicker than traditional somen and irresistibly chewy — served in a delicate Japanese-style broth.
The restaurant offers a refined dining space with semi-private rooms and counter seating, accommodating up to 38 guests. With each grill pitted on tables, it’s also the right place for gatherings with friends and family over a superb meal.
