In this class, you’ll make a classic rice bowl topped with crispy tempura (battered, deep-fried shrimp and vegetables.), and you’ll also learn a traditional recipe for miso soup that includes shaving a block of katsuobushi (dried bonito) to add the flakes into the soup, enhancing umami. In true izakaya-style, a side dish of napa Cabbage will finish the meal.
Once cooking is finished, enjoy your warm, homemade lunch over conversation with Yuki. You’ll learn about Japanese food culture and trends, deepen your understanding of the country’s traditions and ingredients, and find comfort in its quintessential flavors.
