Experience Details
Discover Nagoya’s food culture with a guided food tour. You’ll meet your guide right at the heart of the city for an exploration of the city’s food scene on foot. Although this tour does involve extensive walking, during each restaurant visit you’ll get to rest and recharge before the next sprint.
First on the menu is miso mikomi udon, a udon noodle dish served in a steamy soup made with red miso paste. You’ll also try pickled radish made with the world’s longest radish, learn the story behind the local rice balls stuffed with shrimp tempura, and explore the underground level of Japan’s oldest department store.
You’ll learn all sorts of fascinating insights, from the unexpected relationship between Japanese folk tales and a local sweet potato treat, to how to eat hitsumabushi, a local freshwater eel dish. The lunchtime experience wraps up with a local uiro sweet steamed cake, while those opting to participate at night will learn about Japanese drinking culture in a popular izakaya where you’ll enjoy comfort food and drinks.

Please wear comfortable shoes as we will walk for about 3 km.
Bring an umbrella or rain jacket, the tour will take place rain or shine.
