Experience Details
A city made up of waterways, Hiroshima is one of the main gateways to the Seto Inland Sea (“Seto Naikai” in Japanese). The Seto Inland Sea is a treasured scenic area of southern Japan for its stunning views of the blue ocean and sky, and over 700 islands reside in its waters. For an experience that showcases Hiroshima at its most breathtaking, join this Seto Inland Sea Leisure Cruise and Food Tour.
During this 3.5 hour cruise tour in Hiroshima, you will take a leisurely boat ride in and around the islands of the Seto Inland Sea and then enjoy a lunch of local delicacies. You can relax and take in the breathtaking scenery of the ocean, dotted with numerous islands, during this cruise tour.
Not only will you spend a leisurely time cruising around the Seto Inland Sea, but after the cruise you will also enjoy a delicious, local lunch of either anago (eel) or oysters. These two specialties are famous in the Hiroshima and Seto Inland Sea areas for their high quality and outstanding freshness. If you choose oysters, you will be amazed at the size and big flavor to match! Or, if you choose to eat anago, you will never forget the soft and tender texture and wonderful flavor of anago eel that’s perfectly cooked.
After the cruise, you will visit a local shop that sells momiji manju! These are traditional Japanese sweets which are an iconic souvenir from the Hiroshima area. They are small cake-like treats that are shaped like maple tree leaves and contain a sweet red bean paste filling! This is the natural symbol of autumn in Japan, however you can enjoy momiji manju all year round in Hiroshima. The name translates to “autumn leaf steamed buns,” and these sweet treats are delicious! Once the tour is over, your friendly guide will point you in the direction of a local wine bar where you can enjoy a drink if you wish.
