Escape the crowds of Tokyo’s most famous sakura spots and visit a local area instead. Oji, in Northern Tokyo, is a hidden gem filled with historical and cultural sites, as well as its stunning cherry blossom spots. This experience will take you on a tour of Oji where you’ll enjoy a seasonal bento lunch under the blossoms complete with a glass of sake, beer or a soft drink.
Your tour will start once at the observation floor of the Hokutopia building, just one minute from Oji Station, where you’ll meet your guide. Bask in the views of Oji’s Asukayama Hill and Otonashi River, lined with cherry blossom trees.
You'll then visit the Oji Jinja Shrine, where you'll learn about Japanese traditions and traditional culture. Afterwards, you'll stroll through Asukayama Park, where a reserved seat along the river awaits you for unparalleled views of the cherry blossoms.
Here, you'll enjoy a spring-inspired bento box with a cup of sake, one beer or a soft drink. Enjoy the centuries-old Japanese tradition of flower viewing (hanami) together with your hosts, who will share insights on the significance of the season in Japanese culture.
