A traditional Japanese tea ceremony involves preparing and consuming matcha, a finely ground powdered green tea, typically served in a carefully crafted setting like a tea house or a tranquil garden. Rooted in Zen Buddhism, these ceremonies transcend the mere act of preparing and consuming tea, evolving into a spiritual and cultural experience.
Join Keiko, a Certified Instructor and Master from the Omotesenke Japanese Tea Ceremony School, for a journey into the world of tea ceremonies. Enjoy views of a tranquil Japanese garden as Keiko performs a traditional tea ceremony, teaching you about Japanese culture and zen principles. Following this, enjoy freshly prepared matcha tea (of the highest quality, of course). After your bowl is empty, participate in the hands-on element of this experience: learning how to prepare tea as a master would during a tea ceremony. Learn the intricate steps, observe the precision, and absorb the wisdom passed down through generations.
