Experience Details

The art of sado, or Japanese tea ceremony, is a great way to experience traditional Japanese culture. This tea ceremony experience welcomes beginners for their first tea ceremony, from making the wagashi to preparing the tea.

During this experience, participants will start by making colorful seasonal wagashi, aka traditional Japanese sweets. The tea master will walk you through each step of the process, demonstrating how to use the wagashi-making tools to make edible art.

After making wagashi, sit back and relax as the tea master performs the traditional tea ceremony. The calm atmosphere, view of the Japanese garden, and methodical movements of the ceremony encompass Japanese Zen culture. After enjoying a freshly prepared bowl of premium matcha, guests will get the chance to perform the ceremony themselves.

The casual atmosphere and kind instruction make it perfect for those new to the art of tea ceremony. Conveniently located, this tea ceremony and wagashi-making experience is a great way to add some Zen to a busy day of exploring Tokyo.
