Experience Details

This group-friendly experience offers you a choice among local restaurants to wine and dine in a private setting before witnessing a Japanese Shishimai lion dance performance.

Japanese Shishimai lion dances are highly associated with Shinto festivals. Shishimai dances are energetic and stimulating, with opportunities for audience interaction. If you get bitten on the head, it means you'll have very good luck!

Experience flow:

-An English-speaking guide will meet you at Cocono Susukino (about 10 minutes by train from Sapporo Station). From there, he will take you to the restaurant you selected when booking (more about the options below).

-About an hour into the dinner, the Shishimai lion dance will begin!

-Your guide will take photos for you during the experience. There will be a Q&A session after the performance.

Small groups are invited to start their evening at Suginome, a Hokkaido cuisine kaiseki restaurant that has been serving potatoes, salmon, crab, and more to guests for over 60 years. Hokkai Shabu-Shabu offers the perfect opportunity to warm up over a hot pot of sukiyaki overseeing the town. To book either of these two options, please use the options tab below.

Larger groups of 20 guests or more can take advantage of Kita no Aji Osuke, which has a custom stage made of Japanese cypress wood, or Otaru Bettei, which has a large hall that is great for dinner parties. For something a little different, groups of more than ten guests can enjoy a lounge afterparty at the Special Club. If you are interested in any of these three, please enquire with the host upon booking.

Please note that the default restaurant will be Suginome. For other options, please book using the options tab or enquire directly with the host when booking.
