Experience the beauty of Japanese traditions and hospitality in a private home in Chiba. Noriko, your host, will introduce you to fascinating aspects of Japanese culture through hands-on activities that will deepen your understanding of ancient rituals and customs.
In this experience, Noriko will welcome you to her home, where you’ll go over the flow of the day before changing into traditional attire. Female participants will wear a beautifully patterned silk kimono, while male participants can wear either a light cotton kimono (known as a yukata) or a ninja outfit with a replica sword. After everyone is dressed in traditional clothing, capture this unique moment by taking many photos on your host’s digital camera. Learn more about Japanese garments and their cultural significance from your host.
After changing back into your clothes, you’ll then participate in a traditional tea ceremony. Your host will demonstrate the precise rituals involved in this long-standing cultural practice that originated over 1,000 years ago.
