Delve into Nara's countryside charm by following Yamanobe-no-michi road, the oldest walking path on record in Japan!


Along the way you can check out traditional shops in the ancient capital of Nara, selling everything from local sweets to knives to traditional medicine and green tea. You will pass multiple shrines, temples and other sights of interest. There will be plenty of time to go shopping and pick up some unique souvenirs to take back home. Enjoy a spot of lunch at O-Miwa Shrine, and opt for one of the regions local dishes to fuel your energy for the walk ahead.


The Yamanobe-no-michi walking path takes you through the Nara countryside and you will see some beautiful scenery, as well as gaining a deeper cultural understanding of the area. Walk treetop among lush green fields and farmland breathing in the fresh air and rural landscape.
