Located in Takamatsu City, Ritsurin Garden is famous for being one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. This garden was established during the Edo period and took over 100 years to finish building. It was designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty, thanks to its gorgeous landscapes. The park is fairly large, consisting of ponds, immaculately-pruned hills, historic trees, and stunning pavilions. These are divided into different sections, such as the Japanese style garden to the south and the Western-style garden that’s located toward the north.

Within the garden, there are places to visit such as Sanuki Mingeikan (Folk Craft Museum) or Kikugetsu-tei teahouse, where visitors can drink matcha tea while enjoying the scenery. Take a break or sit and relax in the rest houses which are located throughout the park. During spring, the cherry blossom trees are lit up in the evening to showcase their soft pink color. Fall is also a popular time to visit as the trees turn vibrant orange and red.
