Sakura (Hilton Tokyo Odaiba)
Sushi
Combining four distinct cuisines in a single space, Sakura’s teppanyaki steak, tempura and sushi counters augment its garden-wrapped kaiseki room.
Restaurant Details
Starting with its simple but elegant table seating, Sakura explores a 360-degree approach to Japanese cuisine and carefully selected sake.
Kaiseki meals in the main room feature a fusion of ingredients that shift seasonally along with the foliage in the wrap-around garden. The cuisine honors the basics and traditions of Japanese cooking while creatively blending elements of Edo and modern touches. At the teppanyaki counters, carved from a single plank of pine, diners watch chefs prepare premium seafood, vegetables and aged wagyu, including Kobe beef, tableside.
Meanwhile, Sakura’s single 10-seater sushi counter is constructed from a single wood plank overlooking an idyllic gardenscape the size of two volleyball courts. Sushi specials change monthly, reflecting the fish of the season. Chefs use fresh Tokyosu Market seafood to prepare each piece of Edomae nigiri by hand while diners enjoy the view.
The tempura counter features ten seats in a quiet corner where guests can see Tokyo’s stunning Rainbow Bridge as colossal ship vessels come and go. The scenery of Tokyo Bay is a fitting backdrop for tempura kuruma-ebi with premium seasoning salt made with dashi, Setouchi salt and black sugar.
All angles of this venue, perched on the third floor of the high-luxe Hilton Tokyo Odaiba, are stunning and do full justice to the spectacular breadth of Japanese cooking.
