Restaurant Details
The vast area of Minato in Tokyo doesn’t exactly scream “seafood destination,” so it’s even more impressive how OH! TORO KITCHEN manages to carve a name in the precinct as a tuna-specialist dining destination.
Its name is a playful nod to “otoro,” the prized fatty cut of tuna. As part of a string of tuna restaurants across the city, OH! TORO KITCHEN sources some of the freshest maguro (tuna) directly from Toyosu Market. The team has exclusive access to rare cuts that make up less than 1% of a single fish, including kamatoro (tuna collar), tuna cheek and even the head. The highly sought-after bluefin tuna comes from Yonekawa Fishery, a venerable wholesaler with 80-plus years of history, while limited quantities of Ehime Prefecture’s premium Date Maguro make occasional appearances to silence the crowd.
Though it operates as a “tuna bar,” where maguro is designed to pair with drinks, OH! TORO KITCHEN keeps its menu dynamic, ensuring its singular focus never feels repetitive. Tuna takes center stage in cleverly innovative dishes, from straw-grilled tuna “steak” to sashimi-style tuna collar and a playful twist on fish and chips, with deep-fried tuna replacing cod. Traditionalists will appreciate the tekkadon (raw tuna sashimi rice bowl) and the indulgent bluefin otoro sushi roll topped with uni and caviar. For those looking beyond Japanese flavors, the menu also features Italian-inspired pescatore pasta and a house-special Caesar salad — naturally, with tuna.
Casual and full of surprises — that’s the vibe at OH! TORO KITCHEN Tamachi, where the industrial-style interior, accented with cheerful yellow tones, creates a space brimming with personality. The warm, welcoming service ensures an inviting experience for all guests. Tamachi has truly found a winner
