Hoto is a local speciality in Yamanashi prefecture. It’s a miso-based hot pot dish that contains thick and flat noodles, pumpkin, Japanese taro, and lots of other vegetables.
Momijitei offers three types of hoto dishes in total; Pumpkin Hoto, Mushroom Hoto, and Beef Hoto. All of them are seasoned with homemade miso, which is fermented for over 2 years.
Besides the hoto at Momijitei, udon and soba are also popular dishes. You can also add curry, mountain vegetables, or tempura and make it a set meal which will come with assorted side dishes. You can also choose from a variety of other teishoku set meals: gyudon (a bowl of rice with beef), curry, and tempura are available.
