The curries at this shop just a half hour from central Tokyo are the real deal, with recipes straight from the streets of Delhi.

Restaurant Details

This Chiba curry shop has been garnering a lot of attention among spice lovers in Japan, perhaps due to the fact that the chef himself is Indian, and he doesn’t tone down his recipes for Japanese tastes like many of his competitors. In fact, his flavors are pretty much spot-on.

There are ten varieties to choose from, with three small bowls typically making up a meal alongside naan, rice, or both. Because of their growing popularity, they have a waiting room where you’re likely to spend an hour or so before entry, during which time the staff run a lottery to win a free drink or discount.

After you’ve had your fill of spicy curry and filling carbs, they also have a range of desserts, some of which use Indian mangoes for a light, refreshing end to one of the most satisfying curry dinners for miles.
