Insanely flavor-packed tempura is only enhanced further by the exciting seasonings and wine pairings at this Michelin-star tempura restaurant.

Restaurant Details

This downtown Osaka tempura restaurant is one of the city’s best, with a Michelin star to prove it. Here, a house blend of oil is used to fry up delicate yet flavorful bites of fresh seasonal ingredients. Alongside the standard prawn and sweet potato you’ll also find some surprising types. Shark fin tempura, anyone?

These are paired with matcha-infused salt or truffle salt for a full kick of flavor. The chef will help you figure out the best way to eat each piece to maximize the experience, before going back to the frying to whip up the next dish in the extensive omakase set-course menu.

Pairing wine with tempura is nothing new nowadays, but Hiraishi really takes it seriously, with a cellar of hundreds of bottles to choose from!
