The nightlife in Tokyo's Shibuya district is a feast for the senses: its glittering streets are packed with lively bars and restaurants bustling with people. On this night tour, let your friendly local guide introduce you to Japanese culture while enjoying delicious food and unique cultural experiences, like fishing at an izakaya restaurant!
Upon meeting your guide, you'll head to the first izakaya — Mirai Zaka, a popular hub for students and workers. Here, enjoy a free-flowing, all-you-can-drink menu with sukiyaki, a savory Japanese beef hot pot that's comforting and nourishing. You'll also try essential izakaya dishes like tempura, edamame, and udon noodles to go with your Japanese sake or shochu. Your host will fill you in on etiquette and table manners so you immerse yourself even more in Japanese food culture.
Afterward, you'll follow your guide through the bustling streets of neon-lit Shibuya while learning cultural insights from locals. Next, you'll head to the second izakaya for a unique interactive food experience: fishing! Zauo Shibuya is an izakaya restaurant with an indoor pond and stream with over 200 fish of various species that you can catch with small fishing rods. Don't worry if you've never fished before, as the staff will gladly assist you. The chefs will then prepare your catch however you like. Seafood here is really as fresh as it gets!
The tour ends at Shibuya Yokocho, a food court with restaurants and bars serving food and drinks from all over Japan. Feel free to ask your guide for any recommendations to suit your interests and preferences.
