Experience Details
When cherry blossoms bloom in Fukuoka, the city becomes enlivened with the new energy of spring and the highly-anticipated beauty of sakura. Make the most of this beautiful time by spending a day exploring the sakura spots, traditional arts and seasonal cuisine of Hakata.
After meeting your friendly host, you’ll first visit Kushida Shrine, site of the famous yearly Hakata Gion Festival, which is beautifully adorned with kawazu sakura, early-blooming cherry blossom trees. You'll then stroll a retro shopping street packed with shops and restaurants. This is the perfect place to find spring-inspired Japanese sweets (wagashi). Your guide will help you find the right sweets at a historical shop.
Finally, you’ll get the exclusive opportunity to enjoy a geisha show. Geisha will graciously play the shamisen and do a dance performance, after which you’ll be able to interact and take photos with them. After the show, you’ll wrap up the tour with a Japanese-style lunch featuring Hakata's specialties, followed by tea and sweets.
