In 1882, Akahori Cooking School opened its doors in the heart of Tokyo. With the aim of teaching Japanese home cooking skills, culinary traditions, and cultural principles to overseas travelers, the school quickly made a name for itself as a trusted institution. Connect with a piece of culinary history with a traditional bento box making class at a a historic cooking school in Japan’s beloved capital, Tokyo! Step back in time and soak up the retro atmosphere of the school–your classroom for the day. Equipped with an apron and an arsonry of cooking utensils, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from a family of veteran chefs with a culinary history that spans generations. Learn how to cook kakuni–a Japanese braised pork dish–and arrange it into a bento box along with rice and homemade miso soup (renowned for its health benefits). Whether you’re an amateur homecook or a seasoned chef, there will be something new for you to learn as you’ll be supported and encourages by trusted instructors throughout this experience.

Akahori Cooking Class experiences are conducted by professional Japanese chefs. Their experiences are as authentically Japanese as they come, language included. These classes do NOT include an English-language guide. So, you will need to organize this yourself if desired/needed.
