Visit the delicate tea room nestled in the Meguro district of Tokyo. Your guide will explain the significance of the steps to take before a tea ceremony.
The tea ceremony is a traditional Japanese art form. The ceremony includes ikebana flowers and the hanging scroll in the tearoom. Enjoy learning about the Zen spirit behind the tea ceremony. After the experience, you will feel a tranquility similar to meditation.
The tea master will give a lecture on tea ceremony culture, etiquette within the tearoom and history as matcha (or traditional Japanese green tea) is prepared for the demonstration. Guests will learn about the different parts of the tea ceremony and will be able to try preparing their own cup.
During the ceremony, you will enjoy a cup of matcha prepared by the tea master. You will also have the chance to make your own cup of matcha to enjoy with traditional Japanese sweets.
The experience will take place in Meguro, which is easy access from popular tourist spots such as Shibuya, Ebisu, and Shinagawa. The tea room is located near Meguro Fudoson, a 1,200-year-old temple.

16-minute walk from Meguro Station on JR Yamanote Line. 14-minute walk from Fudo-mae (MG02) station on Tokyu Meguro Line. 5-minute walk from several bus stops (Buses leave from Shibuya, Ebisu, Nakameguro, Sangenjaya, Gotanda, Oimachi, Meguro, etc.). Details are shared upon booking.

The lecture is provided in English and Japanese.
