The northeastern seashore of Tottori Prefecture is one of the most beautiful nature spots in the region — a scenic coast of caves, rock pillars, and sea walls carved out over time by the gorgeous azure waves. This runs along the coast for 15 kilometers, with plenty of lovely viewpoints and beaches dotted along it.

From the main beach, you’ll be able to enjoy some great activities like snorkeling and kayaking, as well as some local treats like squid ink ice cream! Sightseeing cruises also leave from here from March to November, and are probably the best way to take in all of the impressive geography of the coast.

If you’d rather stick on dry land, then the 3-kilometer beach promenade makes for a nice leisurely walk, while some hiking trails on the west side will take you up to the top of the cliffs for some great views. It’s little wonder that the Uradome Coast appears on all the most important official lists of natural beauty spots in Japan
