You too can become a sushi chef for your friends and family thanks to this hands-on class. All of the instructors have high-level English skills, so you don’t have to worry about a language barrier!
There are three types of sushi you will learn to make: hosomaki sushi, gunkan sushi, and nigiri sushi. You can also upgrade your experience to include a sake or tea-tasting session for an extra cost. Anyone can take this class, whether you are a beginner or an expert chef - the class will be tailored to your needs. If you have dietary requirements such as vegan, kosher or halal make sure to give advanced notice.
The class starts out with learning all about the culture and history of sushi as well as the importance of hygiene techniques, in order to prevent contamination. After this explanation, you will start learning how to make sushi. Usually, it takes several years before you can become a professional, but thanks to the provided rice molding kits, you will become a master in just a few hours! The instructors will guide you on how to make nigiri sushi (classic hand-molded sushi), gunkan maki (sushi wrapped in nori seaweed) and hosomaki sushi (thin sushi rolls).
After you have finished making your sushi dishes, it's time to enjoy the fruits of your labor! The instructor will also teach you about the condiments related to sushi and introduce you to Japanese dining etiquette.
