Experience Details
A prime place where Japanese tradition and modernity converge, there’s no wonder why Asakusa is among the first stops for most Tokyo visitors, but that also means it's easy to get stuck in tourist crowds. This bike tour offers an alternative way to see Asakusa’s famous landmarks while also cycling through alleyways and small streets, stopping now and then to sample traditional snacks and street foods with a local guide familiar with the area. Explore shrines, temples, parks, and shopping streets by bike, and savor the quintessential flavors that define Asakusa. You'll try four street foods and snacks: sakura mochi (a pink mochi rice cake wrapped in a pickled sakura leaf), warabimochi (dumplings dusted with soybean powder), grilled octopus dumplings (takoyaki), and sweet potato cakes (imokin), as you breeze your way through traditional roads, shopping alleys, and over bridges, enjoying spectacular views of the nearby Tokyo Skytree. Itinerary: -Meet your host at the designated meeting point near Hikifune Station -First food stop, cycle to a Buddhist Temple and Shinto Shrine -Cycle across the Sumida River, explore temples, shrines, parks, and shopping streets, including the Sensoji Temple and a shopping street where you’ll try a classic souvenir -Cycle across gardens and parks, try local sweets, and cycle past the Ryogoku Sumo Hall before heading to your next food stop in a shopping mall -Cycle back to the meeting point Cycle confidently through busy streets and narrow alleyways guided by an expert guide specialized in bike tours. Eager to show you the authentic flavors, sights, and experiences in Asakusa, your host will craft a custom tour itinerary catering to your dietary needs. What's more, this is a private tour, so there's no need to worry about lagging behind or going too fast. Enjoy exploring and eating your way through Asakusa at your own pace!
